Youre no hero trying to rescue a princess…
Instead youre a villain named crow setting out to kidnap princesses…
The idea of being on the other side really intrigued me. playing as the villain. what could this possibly mean?
Unfronutaly it isn’t all too different from playing rom the otherside which is a bit of a disappointment…
youll be going through the levels like you would as a hero, with only the ability to jump and throw grenades to get past all of the guards and kidnap a kingdoms princess.
this princess hten slightly. and I mean very slightly alters the gamplay up as you get through to the boss stage…
Levels here are pretty basic 2d platforming levels and get more challenging as the game goes on.
there are treasures and coisn to collect to upgrade your suit,
you have grenades to throw at enemies, and a decent amount of checkpoints for you to fall back on when you inevitably die. doin so will cause you to drop some cash shovel knight style and its up to you to go retrieve them.
sadly I never really had fun in any of these moments. it all feels pretty bland, typical, and mediocre…
where things get interesting are the boss battles at the end of each level.
here. youre actually the boss… and youll be taking on that kingdoms hero and trying to stop them from rescuing the princess you just kidnapped…
this is such a fun twist, controlling the giant robots and swinging spike balls…
its always a fun treat and surprise after the bore that is getting to this bit…
unfortunately I just don’t feel like this twist is really used to its greatest potential…
it is for the final battles… but I just expected something different for a game where you play as the villain.
I felt like just another hero in just anther platformer until the end chunk of every game and it just wasn’t enough for me to think wow, what a unique experience…
nefarious is the verydefinition of an okay game. it doesn’t do enough for me to recommend you play it… however if you do play it you wont necessarily regret it. and there are dashes of humour spread out to keep you smiling.
I give Nefarious
a 6/10…Expand
